MONTANA CATTLEWOMEN INC. MISSION STATEMENT
The Mission of the Montana CattleWomen is to support the livestock industry and its environment through communication, education, and legislative activities.

MONTANA CATTLEWOMEN and AMERICAN NATIONAL CATTLEWOMEN OFFICIAL CREED
Believing that the livestock industry is of basic importance to world existence, we, the American National CattleWomen dedicate ourselves to support it with our labor and finances, to promote it through information and publicity, to encourage its producers with our understanding and love, to do all in our power to instill in the coming generations the love of the land and of life, the humility and awe before nature, and the hope and faith in the future that is inherent in Cattlemen and CattleWomen.

MEMBERSHIP

     Teton County CattleWomen won the $50.00 prize for recruiting the most members in 2009.  In 2010, the person recruiting the most members will be awarded a piece of Montana Silversmiths jewelry.  So CattleWomen, recruit some new members!
     Montana CattleWomen membership currently stands at 756 members. Of those, 52 are associates, 41 are Foundation Herd, 24 are Honorary, 5 are Complimentary, and 634 are regular members. There are 33 affiliated CattleWomen locals across the state.

Montana Stockgrowers Quilt
Congratulations to Troy & LaRae Blunt of Malta! They were the winners of the Commemorative Brand Quilt Raffle.

Quilt was made by long-time quilter Linda Logsdon of Baker, MT and represents Montana in it's silver, gold & copper  thread/material, with a Montana Sky blue  background and golden wheat field.  Also has Montana Stockgrowers logo front & center, and a Montana cowboy looks dimensional with leather & suede fabrics, shirt  buttons and belt buckle.

MEETINGS
Montana CattleWomen have two General Membership Meetings annually:
      Annual Convention
      Mid-Year Meetings

The Board of Directors have four meetings through-out the year. To keep members informed, a minimum of three newsletters go out to the general membership annually. ** If you are a state member and have not received the State Newsletter, call Misty Cox at 266-4000 or coxisabel@aol.com.

SCHOLARSHIPS
Memorial Scholarship -

The 2009 Montana CattleWomen, Inc.'s Memorial Scholarship has been awarded to Tom Brown, of Helena, who is attending Montana State University, Bozeman.  Tom is majoring in Agriculture Engineering and minoring in AG Business.  He is interested in fighting hard to promote the potential, versatility, and safety that are encased in beef products in the future.

Tom is the son of Greg and Lynette Brown of Helena.  Tom has taken part in many activities, including:  4-H, National Junior Angus Association, FFA, Alpha Zeta, and Engineers Without Borders.

The Montana CattleWomen's Scholarship is in the amount of $1000.00 and is funded through memorials. Applicants must be from a Montana home and must be enrolled in a Montana institution of post-secondary education, either public or private. Preference is given to a student planning to pursue a career beneficial to the cattle industry.

This scholarship was established in 1963 and has been awarded to worthy students since that time.  Applications for the Scholarship are accepted until March 15. See the Rules, Application, and Instructions.

Montana Young Ag Couples Conference (YACC) - Red Lion Colonial Hotel in Helena, MT January 13-15, 2010. The 30th Annual YACC is sponsored by the Montana Department of Agriculture.
FCCLA Beef Award - FCCLA State Leadership Conference was held
March 18-20, 2010 in Billings. Winner of the Montana Food Producers Education Display was Lindsey Salmi of Hot Springs High School.   The next FCCLA Conference will be held March 17-19, 2011 in Billings, MT.
Montana Stockgrowers Association www.mtbeef.org- The President of Montana CattleWomen is a non-voting member, and sits on the Board of Directors.
